Career coaching is an umbrella terms that covers various coaching programs we offer. Career strategy coaching and career coaching in many instances are similar. How career coaching is different than mentoring?
Typically a mentor has had a professional experience similar to what you are aspiring to accomplish. The mentor shares their experience and can help you accelerate your career growth and avoid pitfalls and mistakes from which they have learned. A coach on the other hand can have a different career path but will be leveraging a well-defined framework to help you act on your career goals. How is a career coach different than a trainer?
Our career strategy coaching includes a lot of training on new skills our clients will be developing. What the career coach will do is work with the client to actually take action on what they get trained in and be able to use the newly gained skills and turn them into results in the form of job offers.
Conventional job search coaching is typically focused on coaching someone to make sure they are clear about what they want in a new employer, advise on one’s marketing documents like resume and cover letter, determine what jobs the client should apply for, and how to apply for them on job boards. Career strategy coaching, in addition to all the activities we mentioned about conventional job search, trains you on how to build a network of advocates that can help you get in front of employers for the 38% of jobs that are not advertised. It also includes advanced interview coaching, which trains you on how to gather better information to get more offers and be armed with arguments to use in salary negotiation. Using career strategy coaching, you may end up competing with far fewer competitors and even become the “inside” candidate!
Can you coach anyone?
Our career coaches can provide career coaching services to anyone. But the outcome of coaching is really accomplished by the coachee. Using our career coaching framework, our coaches can help anyone explore their "Why". But the actions two individuals decided to take to materialize that "why" can vary and result in different outcomes even when the same career coaching framework is used by the coach.
Do I get to choose my career coach?
Your career coach is selected based on your personality assessment and the goals you would like to accomplish. You will have an opportunity to meet with the coach and determine if you are a good match.
What kind of certifications do your career coaches have?
All our coaches are Certified Professional Career Coaches. Some are also Certified Federal Career Coaches as well as Certified Business Coaches. The individuals hired as a career coach, in addition to their certifications are preferred to have had a long professional career where the coach has worked as a mid-level to senior-level professional so their understanding of the business and hiring process is not only through certifications but also based on an extensive professional career.

Do you provide employee coaching?
Yes. We provide employee coaching session as part of our outplacement services for employees who are being separated to help individuals with their job search, as well as our career advancement and executive coaching programs. As a career coach, our career coaches have extensive experience to coach a professional to find new work or to excel and advance in their current career. Career coaches who coach a professional who is an employee of one of our client companies adhere to the privacy policy of both our company as well as that of the client. Career coaches who provide career coaching to a professional who provides work for one of our client companies often coach not only the employee but also the act as career coach for the supervisor and coach other team members of the employee. This is an important part of the career coaching service we provide to companies and overlaps with our talent optimization services. Career coaching will have career coaching session with each individual as well as sessions where multiple employees and supervisors discuss what career coaches find as the profile of the entire team. When our career coach work with employees of a company, they help the client to find, in a private session, the long-term goals the individual would like to set for their career. Then the career coach will work with the client to make sure their work at the company is in line with their dreams for their career.
Do you provide remote appointment for career services?
Yes. We provide remote career services for all our resume and coaching services. Individuals who are looking for jobs to work in a new career can make an appointment with a coach and have a career counseling session to find out what professional field and career they are best suited for and what kind of work appeals to them. Once they discover their target career with the help of the coach, then they can launch their search. Throughout this search process, the coach will consent to total confidentiality based on our strict career coaching privacy policy and ensures that the research performed by our client for their new career is leveraged exclusively for the benefit of the client.
Career coaching may not be worth it if you have not clarified your goals and why those goals are important to you. On the other hand, you can work with a career coach to discover what is really important to you and become fully aligned with the prospect of achieving those goals.
